Jim McFadden Williams

December 26, 1929 ~ December 6, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Mr. Jim McFadden Williams, son of the late Allen and Ethel Brunson Williams was born on December 26, 1929 in Marion County, South Carolina. McFadden peacefully transitioned to his new home on Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017 at his residence. He received his formal education in the public schools of Marion County. He was a former employee of J&B Chevrolet Car Dealership of Marion, South Carolina. He also worked thirty two years with the South Carolina Highway Department before his retirement and was the sole proprietor of Mack's Barbershop for over forty years.

He joined the St. Mary AME Church at an early age and confessed Christ at the age of sixteen. He loved gospel singing and good preaching. He was a people's person and always met everyone with a smile. To know him was to love him. McFadden was united in holy matrimony to Clara Bell Cross for fifty-eight years and to this union two children were born. McFadden was preceded in death by his wife: Clara Bell Williams, a son: Ronnie Williams; eight siblings: Teretha, Mary, Nancy, Gladys, Levi, Maxine, and Annie Lisa.

Francis) Dennison of Marion, SC; six grandchildren: Cameron F. (Tanya) Godbolt of Greenville, SC;, Toni C. (Michael) Abram, Phillip Williams all of Marion, SC, Letita (Tyrone) Haynes of Charleston, SC, Natasha Anderson of Birmingham, AL and Shawnta (Adriana Nichols of Tampa, FL; fourteen great grandchildren; sisters-n-law: MaeCeal Williams of Centenary, SC, Mary Sue Williams of Florence, SC, Sarah C. Grady of Birmingham, AL, Minnie G. Mason and Marjorie C. Ivory all of Marion, SC: three brothers-n-law: Willie Lee Cross, Ed (Elizabeth) Cross both of Winston Salem, NC and Oscar (Edna) Cross of Marion, SC; forster sons: Chris Phillips of Norfolk, VA, Morgan Thompson of New York, NY, David Lee of Florence, SC, Garrick Buie of Mullins, SC Tyrone Ransom, Aaron Taylor both of Gresham, SC, Levester Taylor of Atlanta, GA Cedric Phillips of Aynor, SC, a special friend: Irene Dewitt of Marion, SC; two special cousins: Alice H. Nichols and Janie Mae Howard Brown both of Marion, SC; god-sons: Andrew Reed, Maurice Reed, Jahare' Finklea, Emerson Hunt all of Marion, SC and Elder Don Huffman of Aynor, SC; god-daughters: Pum Zawatski of Mullins, SC, Maxine Davis and Doris Davis who was his god-daughter/caretaker both of Marion, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
