Flossie L Cooley

Flossie Cooley, age 90, of Marion, S.C. passed away on June 4, 2017 at Tuomey Hospital. She was born to the late Moses and Mary J. Lewis in Fork, S.C. on May 29, 1927.

Flossie attended Marion County Training School, Marion County High School, Voorhees College and Morris College. She obtained a Master’s degree from North Carolina Central in Durham, N.C. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Marion, S.C.  She was also an active member in the community and served in the Marion County Community Club.

Flossie is survived by her sister Alberta L. Davis of Sumter. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Frierson Lewis, Mary Ellen Barnette, Hattie Gwaltney, Addie Lewis, Gusella Moody, Francis “Ninny” Fleming, Anna Brown, and Margaret Roberson. Although she never had any children of her own she leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews.
