Leroy Davis Jr

Leroy Davis Jr.  son of the late Leroy Davis Sr. and Helen Cochran Davis was born on January 6, 1948.  Leroy peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, February 26, 2018 in a Florence Hospital,  Florence, South Carolina.

He was educated in the Public School System of Marion County, South Carolina.

Leroy was a member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church where his spiritual development began at an early age. He was employed with South Carolina Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement.

Leroy was united into holy matrimony to the love of his life, Ruby Leonard Davis and this union was blessed with two children.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents: Leroy Davis Sr. and Helen Cochran Davis.

Leroy leaves to cherish precious memories ~ his devoted daughter: Monica Ann Davis; his beloved son: Lamont Davis both of Marion, SC; one special grandson: Jaylen Davis of Marion, SC; one sister: Roudell (Willie) Weeks of Columbia, SC; six brothers: George (Betty)Davis, Marvin (Geraldine) Davis, Harris (Christine) Davis, Hubert (Martha) Davis all of Marion, SC, James (Lizzie Mae) Davis and Rudolph Davis both of Mullins,  SC; one aunt: Frances Cochran Brunson; sisters-n-law: Vivian Johnson,  Cynthia Adams, Sarah Frances Leonard all of Marion, SC, Versteen Davis, Mae Retha Leonard both of Florence, SC, Eva Leonard of Philadelphia, PA; two special friends: James Green, James “Mink” Cross and host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

We celebrate the life of Leroy Davis Jr. and will miss him dearly, but we know that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” We cannot replace Leroy Davis Jr. but we will attempt to demonstrate his love for God, family, friends and one another.
