Latoya Smith Obituary

In the Script called “LaToya: This Thing Called Life”

In the opening scene, A happy bouncing baby girl named LaToya Shareese Smith, born on Thursday, November 6, 1986 in Florence, SC to her parents Joseph Rollins III and Keshia Smith-Cross.

LaToya was raised in the home of her maternal grandparents, Jessie and Hazel Thomas. She attended Marion County School District and graduated in the Class of 2006. In her early years she developed her love for movies, television shows, and old school rhythm and blues. She had the natural ability of being a caregiver. “Big Baby” loved spending time with her family and friends. Latoya also loved preparing meals for family and spend time sharing social media posts for a quick laugh.

She loved spending time with her God-family; God-Sisters Lashonda and TaQuisha Johnson. And her Godmother Leslie Johnson.

Latoya was proceeded in death by; Jessie and Hazel Thomas, Joseph Rollins Jr., Jimmy Ray Rollins, Kelvin D. Rollins, and Nicolas Dewitt Jr.

On Friday, September, 17, 2021, Latoya looked around one last time and closed her eyes knowing that she had done a great job on this place called Earth. In her final moments she remembered her two boys and two nieces, and that put a beautiful smile on her face as she ascended to Heaven.

While we miss her earthly presence, we are comforted to know that she is no longer suffering and is with our dearly departed loved ones. While her script has ended on this side of life, we will continue her legacy and keep her spirit alive.

You are loved and missed, Toya. Fly High!
