A time to be born…. Willie Joe Paige was born July 22, 1948, to the late Samuel Paige and
Maybell Avant Paige in the Wahee community of Marion County.
A time to die…. Willie Joe departed his earthly home on December 27, 2023. He was preceded.
in death by his parents, two brothers John Paige and Leverne Page, two sisters Margaret Ann
Paige and Sarah Dunham, two sons Brandon Jovon Paige and David Brown, Jr., and one great-
grand, Jhené Thompson, whom we named Bean.
A time to plant…. Willie Joe Paige, better known as Bill, attended the Marion County Public
Schools. As a teen, he learned the brick mason trade from his father Samuel Paige. He became.
a master brick mason and taught the trade to many others. Bill enjoyed laying bricks so much.
so that he would sometimes work a full day without a break. And if you ever worked with him
as a fellow layer or laborer, you know that he did not play about the quality of his work. Bill has
done outstanding work throughout Marion County and the surrounding Pee Dee areas. At an
early age, he became a member of Greater Singletary Church.
On September 19, 1978, Bro. Paige was joined in holy matrimony to Mildred Dixon. Together
the couple was blessed with six children.

A time to mourn…. Willie Joe leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving and devoted wife.

Paige both of Marion, SC. Three daughters, Lisa Ann Paige of Rockaway, NY, Nicole Paige
Thompson and Cigi “Snoop” (Brandon) Gillard of Marion, SC. Eight brothers, Sam Paige, Jr. of
Dorchester, Massachusetts, Aurthur Lee (Bobbie) Paige of Florence, SC, English Paige of
Charlotte, NC, Johnny Lewis Paige of Latta, SC, Frederick Paige of Marion, SC, David (Donna)
Paige and Tony (Cynthia) Paige of Charlotte, NC. Three sisters, Dorothy Ann (late Jimmy) Davis
of Charlotte, NC, Daisy Mae Paige and Diane Paige of Marion, SC. Three grandsons, Rashaad
Paige, Jovon “Juke” Paige, whom he reared and “his boy” Dominic Rogers II. Seven
granddaughters, Shajeveia Paige, Robyn “Moo” Thompson, Tanasia “Big Nate” Thompson,
Jonnae Paige, BreAsia Paige, Miracle “Mim Mim” Rogers, and Haylee Brown. Four specials
nephews that he took as his own, Andre “Slush” Phillips, Tyrone “Snag” Paige, Jerrod Paige, and
Trent Hughes (whom he reared). A devoted niece, Barbara Lynn Hughes. Special nephews,
Demetrick Paige (his sitter and barber) and Sam Johnson, lll. Special niece, Brichelle Johnson.
Extended daughters, Keshia (Jeff) Wilkins and Melissa Rogers Thomas. Extended sons, Reese
and John Gerald. His personal taxi, Marlene Calhoun. Five great-grands, Cameron, Cayden,
Braden, Kaylee, and Kyrie. Five sister-n-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends
